The Two Days Training on Application of Bioinformatics in Research and Development will be a comprehensive and insightful program which is aimed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge to harness the power of bioinformatics in their scientific pursuits. Course content

  • One-hour theory on introducing Bioinformatics and its application in research and development.
  • One hour hands on session on biological databases (UniprotKB, PDB, PDBSum)
  • One-hour session on biomolecules visualization tool (Discovery studio)
  • One hour session on protein structure prediction and evaluation (Swiss model, energy and stereo chemistry calculation)
  • One hour session on molecular docking and result analysis (Swiss Dock and PIPL)
  • Three hours’ session on protein sequence analysis and homology searches (BLAST, Clustal X, Phlogenetic Tree, PSort, Membrane protein prediction, vexijen)


Participant competency will be assessed on MCQs based exam. 50% score is required to pass the exam. Passing the exam is mandatory for the training Certificate.


8 hours, interactive sessions. Each session is comprised of 4 hours conducted on two consecutive days.
